SMERU Research Institute
BackgroundSMERU Research Institute was established in 1998 with initial funding of A$810,000. The Institute conducts assessments on poverty and the operation of economic programs in urban and rural areas to provide up-to-date information and advice to policy makers, program planners, external support agencies, NGOs and civil society. DescriptionFunding of A$3 million over five years is enabling the continuation and development of SMERU as a high level, self-reliant and independent research agency. These new funds will bring Australia's total support to SMERU to A$6.9 million. Achievements/outcomes
