Publications

This website provides online copies of AusAID in Indonesia's printed publications. The majority of these are in PDF format and can only be viewed using the Acrobat Reader plugin installed with your browser. Those without the plugin can download it free of charge from Adobe [external site].

For users with a disability, see Adobe's screen-reader compatible, download page [external site] and the additional information below.

Downloading and printing PDF files

To save PDF files onto your own computer, or if you are having problems viewing the PDF file from your browser, you should right-click on the PDF file link, select 'Save Target As' or 'Save Link As', save the file to your computer hard disk, then open and print it using Acrobat.

Accessibility

Accessibility tips

The navigation elements at the foot of each page on this website have been set up with keyboard shortcuts. The shortcuts operate as follows:

  • Alt-1 = Home
  • Alt-2 = Search
  • Alt-3 = Site map
  • Alt-4 = Disclaimer
  • Alt-5 = Privacy
  • Alt-6 = About this site (this page)
  • Alt-7 = Contact

Please note that Netscape 4 does not support these shortcuts. They are fully implemented in Netscape 6 and partially in Internet Explorer 5.5.

Tabbing between fields in forms

All forms allow tabbing between consecutive fields.

Note: when using the TAB key to proceed through form fields, please use the arrow keys to select unchecked radio buttons, in conjunction with the TAB key.

New browser windows

In general, every link on this site opens in the existing browser window.

Multi-column tables

To improve accessibility for assisted technologies, the AusAID in Indonesia website makes minimal use of multi-column tabular information.

Graphics display and browser versions

This site uses background tile images in main page content tables so that they can be viewed in Netscape 3 and 4. If you have disabled graphics display in your browser, you may see the background colour as dark grey. If you are using these browsers, you may need to re-enable graphics display in your browser to view this site properly.

Javascript

This site makes very limited use of Javascript. However, Netscape 4 (including 4.7) must have Javascript enabled to use style sheets. To view this site properly, please enable Javascript in your browser. If you are unable to do this, some areas of the site will not be available to you, and other areas will not appear as intended.

Font sizes

Because of the complex interactions between browser, platform and operating system, it is impossible to find a font size specification that looks the same under all circumstances and that can also be resized for users with visual impairment. We recommend the use of a browser that allows text resizing independent of the manner in which the font size is specified. These include Opera 5 or 6 and Netscape 6 or 7 for the PC, and Internet Explorer 5 and 5.1 for the Macintosh.

Compliance standards

This Internet site is compliant with the AGLS metadata standard.

This site has been validated as compliant with the HTML 4.01 transitional W3C standard.

AusAID in Indonesia website has endeavoured to meet all W3C Guidelines for web accessiblity to priority 3 AAA level. AusAID has chosen not to comply with some guidelines where these compromise site accessibility for the widest range of visitors.

PDF file accessibility

People with disabilities who wish to access PDF format publications should either:

  1. Submit the URI of the PDF document to an online converter provided by Adobe, which will return the text in HTML format readable by appropriate speech conversion software.
  2. Download the PDF document and send it by email to Adobe for conversion and return in plain format.
  3. Download an additional free plugin for Acrobat and Acrobat Reader, called Acrobat Access. Full instructions on downloading and using this plugin are provided by Adobe [external site].

We recommend that such users visit the Adobe Acrobat Access website [external site] and select the option that best suits their needs.
